Regarding the submarine sinking incident near Hurghada, Egypt, in the Red Sea on March 27, 2025, the company chairman immediately led a team of domestic and international engineers to investigate the scene. The preliminary findings indicate that the primary cause of the accident was the improper operation by the pilot, who reversed the soft ballast system valve while the "Sinbad" hatch was open. This led to the flooding of the soft ballast tank, rapid submersion, and seawater ingress through the open hatch, ultimately causing the submarine to sink.
Our company’s latest generation of underwater touring submarines is equipped with a diving interlock system for hatch access. If either hatch is open or not properly sealed, the interlock system will disable the soft ballast system, preventing the submarine from diving. Even if the pilot makes an operational error, the exhaust valve cannot be opened to start submarine.
After reaching the preliminary conclusion, we promptly notified our Chinese clients via WeChat, explaining the cause and reminding them to strengthen operational safety awareness. On March 28, we issued a formal written <<Notice on Enhancing Operational Safety Awareness>> to our customers.
